A rustic retreat nestled in a beautiful Cornish wooded valley

"This is our perfect place, no hotel room or apartment will give you the sense of happiness in firing up your wood burner, getting dinner cooking on top of it, standing in a half whiskey barrel with a wood fired shower pumping out hot water, listening to owls at night and sitting around your camp fire. The rustic perfection of each of the accommodations is magic."

Handcrafted off-grid accommodation

Mill Valley began in 2008, where it all started from an empty field.

Neil and Lisa created this beautiful retreat from scratch, from building each accommodation to planting almost 1,000 trees of 30 different varieties. It is always an ever-evolving project, so any returning customers can watch as the journey unfolds.

We set this business up, partly because we realised there was a gap in the market for a truly unique holiday experience and partly because we wanted to build a business based upon our principles of minimal environmental impact - specifically in the tourist industry. We think we have, or have planned, to do everything within the business that is both carbon neutral and environmentally sustainable.

We also have the intentions of connecting people with nature, where people have a chance to come away from technology and modern day chaos, to give you time to unwind and experience a peaceful off grid, nomadic way of life - all of which can be spent in the company of your furry best friend(s), free of charge!
