The Stumpy

Nestled in it’s own private wooded corner.

The handcrafted hobbit hut in the woods at Mill Valley looks almost like it grew right where you find it, which in one sense it did. A living ash tree sits in the middle of this cosy, rustic cabin and it’s circular door sprung up around it is formed with reclaimed wood. Settle into the slow life and the rhythms of off grid living as you light the wood burning stove for morning tea, the BBQ or the pizza oven for dinner and candles for long romantic evenings. The Stumpy is tucked away and you have your own private outdoor covered dining area.

Important stuff

Check in between 3-6pm and check out 10am. Bring torches, wellies, waterproofs and matches/lighters!

We kindly request that you leave the space as you found it & no shoes inside please!

 

Washing

There are plenty of showers, a variety of gas or wood fired, plus a wood fired bath. Each accommodation has their own private compost loo. Shared outdoor washing up areas.

Sleeping Arrangements

Sleeps 2 with one double bed. Space for unlimited pets no charge.

 

Heating, lighting & bedding

Bed linen and towels provided. Wood-burner. Solar lighting and tealights. Mill Valley is off-grid with no electricity!

Cooking

Inside wood-burning stove. Outside wood-fired pizza oven and fire pit. Pots, pans, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, cutlery and a kettle provided. All cooking facilities at Mill Valley are wood fired. Guests are welcome to bring their own camping stove.

 

Wood

The first bag of logs is provided free of charge, extra bags of logs and kindling are available to buy.
